Capital One Features “Schitt’s Creek” Stars in a Father’s Day Themed Ad

Two stars from the TV sitcom “Schitt’s Creek” are featured in a father-themed Capital One ad for their new automotive shopping tool. The ad “Dad Mode” shows Eugene panicking over the prospect of his daughter purchasing a new car. He visits her late at night, fumbling over fears regarding her new purchase. Those fears are quelled with a brief product description of the tool and how it creates an easier process for automobile purchases. Now that Eugene is freed of his worries he invites himself in to make some french toast. The ad serves as a great example of the benefits of star-power. Different actors could have caused the ad to come across as dry, but the strong relationship between real-life father and daughter celebrities gives the spot some much needed character. The only problem is that now I have a strange craving for french toast.
