WEEKLY BUZZ FOR YOUR BRAIN

Starbucks & Netflix Invite You to Their Book Club

We all have that friend who will cut in on our Netflix binge and tell us that “the book was better!” Okay Jimmy, I get it. There are countless adaptations of books into television and film, so it is almost more surprising to find that your show isn’t based on an established piece of literature. Recognizing this, Starbucks and Netflix partnered to release a digital series that can bridge that knowledge gap. Their new series—’But Have You Read the Book?’— will finally reveal the process of adaptation to the public.

‘But Have You Read the Book?’ will take place within Starbucks locations across the U.S, and guests will sip on some coffee as they discuss. This new series serves as a fascinating deep dive into the differences between novels and visual storytelling. Diehard fans are always excited to learn behind-the-scenes info, and now fans of the novels will also be on board. Starbucks benefits from hosting every single episode and showcasing countless celebrities with coffee in hand. This partnership has the potential to excite a wide audience, and will encourage discussion with fans online as they ponder topics from the show. Maybe now we can finally understand why people always seem to think that the book was better.
