Kroger Grocery Store Opens Restaurant
Kroger’s strategy involving the launch of a new restaurant, called Kitchen 1883, isn’t unique to the supermarket business. But it does give the local grocery store chain a way to reach customers in a new and exciting way. “We know that the massive $1.5 trillion U.S. food market creates a unique and sustainable growth opportunity for Kroger,” CEO Rodney McMullen said. Overall, the restaurant business seems like a natural extension for a supermarket. As long as they have a good menu with local flair, it should be a good venture.
So what do you think of a supermarket restaurant? Is it a sound business decision?
