Wendy’s Fresh Battle with McDonald’s
If you thought Wendy’s was dialing back the smack talk lately, you’d be wrong. The fast food restaurant chain known for their fresh (and square) burgers has a knack for cooking up some witty digs towards their competition.
In their latest ad, due to play during this year’s Super Bowl, Wendy’s takes a jab at McDonald’s and their use of frozen beef. Choosing to use only on-screen text and an upbeat tempo, Wendy’s makes remarks that “The iceberg that sank the Titanic was frozen, too.” And that you, the viewer, should “Skip the hamburgers at the Frozen Arches.”
Those seem like fightin’ words if you ask us! We’ll be interested to see how McDonald’s responds to this very blatant attempt to stir up some “fresh” controversy during one of the biggest advertising days of the year.
