Toy Story Land Opens for Playtime at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Take a minute to let your brain play with these figures:
- $4.879 billion – Walt Disney Company revenue from parks and resorts in the second quarter of 2018
- $1.970 billion – the total worldwide box office gross from the first three Toy Story films to date
Given those mammoth numbers, it’s no surprise Disney is launching a Toy Story area at one of its amusement parks. The only real question is, what took so long?
Toy Story Land will open its doors at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30. Top attractions of the area include a Slinky Dog “mega-coaster” that twists and turns through Andy’s backyard, a spinning saucer ride with the aliens from the grab machine, a 4-D arcade, and the many characters kids (and adults) have come to know and love in the two decades since the first movie was released.
The launch of Toy Story Land this summer is sure to provide a boost for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theme park had 10.7 million visitors in 2017 compared to the Magic Kingdom’s 20.45 visitors. The new area of the park will also help build even more anticipation for next summer’s release of Toy Story 4.
