Waze Gets a Fun Facelift via Pentagram
Waze, the Google-owned GPS app where users share traffic updates, got a new look this summer. For drivers, sharing traffic info is helpful—but with the responsibility of driving comes stress. To add fun, Waze partnered with Pentagram for a new design focusing on the app’s crowdsourcing and teamwork aspects. The Wazer Symbol was updated to a speech bubble, spotlighting the app’s communication element, while mood avatars debuted to reflect users’ frame-of-mind on the road. The makeover won’t prevent the next traffic jam, but it does add fun to curb the travel blues.
