Take a Trip to Iceland – They Have Humans, We Promise!
Parody is an art form. Taking another piece of content and creating something that riffs on it while simultaneously having its own identity is no small feat. That’s why we’re so happy to see that the tourism board of Iceland was able to get in on the fun with a video that echoes Facebook’s “Metaverse” announcement.
The ad follows Zack Mossbergsson, a Mark Zuckerberg look alike who promises that everything is completely normal and that everyone in Iceland is human. The ad carries a tone of awkward discomfort, and the straight faced Mossbergsson is effortlessly hilarious. This brand effort is impressive for its ability to be current, because the team behind the ad jumped on the concept the moment that the original Metaverse video aired. Thanks to their quick reaction and execution, the “Icelandverse” has received millions of views and even caught the attention of Zuckerberg himself. Check out the video and let us know if you’ll be stopping by the “Icelandverse” anytime soon.
