The U.S. Government is Minting a Subtle Change
Could you, without looking, describe the direction that George Washington is facing on the U.S. quarter? Many people might not pay attention to such a trivial detail. But all those small, subtle details have historical relevance and were considerations when they were originally designed.
That’s why the 2022 refresh could fly under the radar for most. The design changes see George Washington flipped—now facing right. The portrait has also been updated to reflect a design that was recommended all the way back in 1931, by sculptor Laura Gardin Fraser.
What do you think of the new design, and would you notice the change?
