AI-Image Renders Classic Tales in a Terrifyingly Modern Light

Classics are adapted left and right these days. Take Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’. There are at least SIXTY different versions of that story that have been adapted for screen. It could be said that there is no more story to tell.

At least, not by humans.

For the 2022 Melbourne Writers Festival, the creative team at TBWA\Melbourne thought to promote the event through a unique depiction of classic stories. Utilizing AI-image technology, the team created a few different images based on quotes from stories like 1984, Frankenstein, and, of course, Dracula. These images vary from dreamlike and mystifying to downright terrifying, but each captures the tone of their respective stories and refines it into a single picture. Though it makes you wonder about other stories. What kind of AI-image would come out of a Dr. Seuss book?
