Nick Offerman Becomes One With The Earth
Dirt is not something one would traditionally think about all that much, unless you get it on your shoes and track it onto your carpet. Some might even have a negative perception of dirt.
But, if dirt had the visage and pristine mustache of Nick Offerman, of Parks and Recreation fame, maybe you’d feel differently. In this ad from the National Resource Defence Center (NRDC), Nick speaks about the importance of keeping the planet’s soil healthy so that it can continue to sustain us into the future and even counter global warming via cover crops. The ad comes as a part of a campaign to support the Farm Bill, a new piece of legislation reaching congress that would offer farmers incentives to keep their soil healthier. Offerman has been a longtime supporter of protecting the environment, so it’s only natural that he’d offer to bury himself in the dirt to make a powerful point. So consider the campaign’s tagline and Offerman’s words, and “Don’t treat soil like dirt”.
