MOMA: MOVIES & MARKETING PODCAST SERIES

Marky Mark at the Movies

In a world where movies rely on marketing more than ever to connect with audiences, one podcast aims to make sense of it all…

What’s in this episode?

Have we ever seen anything like Mark Wahlberg’s performance in The Happening?

On today’ episode we’re talking about Mark Wahlberg, AKA Marky Mark. Why? Because:

  • He’s has a new movie out: Arthur the King, about a guy competing in an endurance race who makes friends with a dog
  • This also “marks” 30 years since Mark’s feature film debut in Renaissance Man with Danny DeVito back in 1994
  • So we thought it would be a good time to look on the film career of Marky Mark and the many gifts he’s given us

Before we dive into sharing some of our favorite Marky Mark at the Movies Moments, let’s do a quick rundown of some of Mark’s career highlights…

  • 1995 – he appears with fellow up-and-comer Leonardo DiCaprio in The Basketball Diaries
  • 1996 – he gets his first starring role in the minor hit movie Fear with Reese Witherspoon
