20 Tweets About Nike’s New HyperAdapt Shoes
In the year 1989, Doc Brown and Marty McFly transported us to the year 2015. In that vision of the future, we were promised many cool things: Leashes that walk dogs with no human required. Jaws 19 presented in Holomax. Hoverboards that don’t spontaneously burst into flames. And, of course, power lacing shoes adorned with a glowing Nike logo.
Flash forward 27 years. The future of Back to the Future Part II has become the past and our innovation is lagging behind. We’re still walking our own dogs. James Cameron gave 3D a boost with Avatar, but we still don’t have hologram movies. And the hoverboards we got almost killed national treasure Mike Tyson.
Despite those disappointments, one brand is finally delivering us the future we were promised. On November 28, 2016 (a year late, but who’s counting), consumers will be able to buy the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0. This is the first shoe to feature Nike’s game-changing “adaptive lacing” technology. In a nutshell, these are the power-lacing shoes Back to the Future promised us.

In 1989 Back to the Future 2 predicted that Nike would have self lacing shoes by 2015. They were off by just 1 yr. That's pretty impressive.
