Amazon Leadership Changes During the Pandemic

As of the 3rd quarter of 2021, Jeff Bezos is no longer CEO of Amazon. The reins of the company worth more than 1.5 trillion dollars will be handed over to Andy Jassy, the lead of its web services cloud team.

We’ve written about Amazon in the past because the company continues to be a global super power. The brand has unparalleled equity and is constantly pushing boundaries, making it a case study for how to do business, and do it well. Jeff Bezos said it best in his letter to Amazon employees as he acknowledged his departure, “How did that happen? Invention. Invention is the root of our success. We’ve done crazy things together, and then made them normal. We pioneered customer reviews, 1-Click, personalized recommendations, Prime’s insanely-fast shipping, Just Walk Out shopping, the Climate Pledge, Kindle, Alexa, marketplace, infrastructure cloud computing, Career Choice, and much more. If you get it right, a few years after a surprising invention, the new thing has become normal. People yawn. And that yawn is the greatest compliment an inventor can receive.”
