Apple Ends Intel in Favor of Apple’s Own Custom Silicon
Apple announced at its World Wide Developer Conference that the company would leave Intel processors behind and produce Mac computers with its own Apple chips by the end of the year.
That’s a huge shift and one that will likely create, at the very least, some short-term chaos for the manufacturer that’s been providing processors for Apple for almost 15 years. In turn, it should help Apple produce even faster computers in the future and get closer to the ultimate goal of controlling every aspect of their product offerings.
