Deadpool Donates a Pink Suit
According to the American Cancer Society, there will be an estimated 1,735,350 new cancer cases diagnosed and 609,640 cancer deaths in the United States in 2018. Combine that with the rest of the world’s cancer-related statistics and it’s obvious that we need to “F” cancer. Fortunately, there are organizations like LetsFCancer, which believes that people diagnosed with cancer—as well as their families and support network—should have equitable access to early detection, prevention, and psychosocial support.
But LetsFCancer initiatives aren’t cheap, so they need the support of people like you. Enter Omaze—a community that democratizes traditional auction-giving by offering everyone the chance to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience for as little as $10. Through the Omaze platform, people from more than 170 countries have donated to over 150 charities, driving new levels of awareness and raising more money for charities.
So how does Deadpool fit into this equation? Easy. In support of LetsFCancer, Deadpool (or “the Hollywood powers that be”) have donated a custom-made pretty ‘n’ pink Deadpool suit that you can bid on through the Omaze platform. We don’t think it’s a coincidence that this effort coincides with the theatrical release of Deadpool 2 on May 18, 2018, but we also don’t care. Every bit of progress we can make to kill cancer is worth it.
