Emails Are Opening Up Possibilities by 200%
If you felt like you’ve seen more emails since the pandemic started, you’re not imagining things. According to a study by Glance, Inc., a firm that offers metrics-reporting, there has been a 200% rise in email marketing engagement since the beginning of the crisis. In addition, the business and industrial segment has seen nearly a 290% increase.
What does this tell us? First, that email isn’t dead. Duh. Second, this is a prime indicator that email is still a great way to communicate with people one-to-one. Think of your email as snail mail, delivered by a mailman directly to people who want to hear from you (assuming you’ve grown your list responsibly). Since most of the world has been home during quarantining, they’ve had the time to go to the mailbox, open letters with more care, and possibly engage with each one. This extra time means that many people aren’t tossing mail into the trash in frantic hurry as they rush out the door. Stay-at-home orders meant there was nowhere to go and therefore more opportunity to connect with them. The key, as always, is to make sure you have the right message being sent to these people.
