The Female Company Snatched Gold at Clio Awards

Did you know that feminine products in Germany are taxed at 19%, while most other goods are taxed at 7%? The Female Company—a producer of feminine hygiene products—created a book that doubles as packaging for tampons to combat this issue. Because it is a book first, the tampons are taxed at 7% instead of 19%. ‘The Tampon Book: a book against tax discrimination’ is informative with a comedic flare involving a lot of period innuendos. The effort won gold at the Clio Awards and continues to provide women with lower-taxed tampons until the laws are changed.
