LEGO and Epic Games Look to Create Their Own Metaverse
The metaverse is a relatively fresh concept. A virtual space where people can interact and engage socially is a freeing idea, and an interesting space for marketers. However, there are some concerns around the metaverse, especially around the safety of children. Some popular metaverse platforms lack important protections for kids, which is why the toy megabrand LEGO has decided to throw their hat in the ring with the help of Epic Games.
The two companies have been eyeing the metaverse and this partnership allows both to attain their primary goals. Epic Games has been seeking to expand their library of games to create accessibility for kids, since their most popular games skew towards teens and adults. LEGO, on the other hand, hopes to create a platform that facilitates growth in children and allow them to delve into the digital world in a safe environment. What their joint metaverse platform will be called is unknown at this point, but with two entertainment juggernauts it is hard to imagine it will be anything but spectacular.
