Netflix Naturally Extends Native Content

Netflix dropped Season 6 of its Black Mirror anthology series, which hasn’t seen a new episode for roughly four years. The show, which explores humanity’s dark and perverse relationship with technology, has been a fan favorite of Netflix subscribers.

In an effort to interact with audiences, the streaming service launched a website that mirrors an alternate reality version of itself, called Streamberry. In conjunction with this website, Netflix also launched a unique landing page (YouAreAwful.com) that captures your image and superimposes you in a fictional show, based on one of the episodes from Season 6. This marketing effort is a natural extension of the new season and demonstrates how brands can deliver unique coordinated experiences that coexist and enhance the original product, service or idea.
