Students Win Award for Orkin Spec Ad
The Orkin Man has been an institutional icon for the pest control services company since the 1950s and has been used in a variety of campaigns over the years. What makes this advertisement for the Orkin Man unique is that it wasn’t produced or contracted by Orkin or their agency, The Richards Group. Oddly enough, it was produced by advertising students at Brigham Young University.
If you can’t tell the difference between this student-produced ad and the real thing, we wouldn’t blame you. When we watched it, we were extremely impressed by the high quality production value. These students really went the extra mile with this project and it shows.
The “Pests Do Not Mess with the Orkin Man” spot also won a coveted ANDY award from the ADVERTISING Club of New York. The ANDYs celebrate bravery, innovation and contagious thinking that push the advertising industry forward.
Congratulations students… well done!
