Willow Revival Reunites Us with the 80’s Fantasy Hero

Transport yourself back to the late 1980’s. Stylish clothes, techno music, and George Lucas. Hot off the heels of the original Star Wars trilogy, Lucas set out to create an epic fantasy adventure. This film came to be known as Willow and starred a young Warwick Davis. The film garnered a following of devout fans, who have been clamoring for a revival for many years.

Now they have it.

Slated to be released in 2022 on Disney+, the Willow revival will feature Davis reprising his role. Almost every Disney property throughout history has some kind of a devout fanbase clamoring for new content with their favorite characters, making Disney+ the ideal platform for revivals and continuations of old stories. From Willow to the recently announced X-Men ‘97 (which follows the original 90’s cartoon by the same name), Disney clearly knows which properties will fill fans with joy.
