Air Jordan Assists Teams to ‘Be Like Mike’ in the Tournament
Before Michael Jordan dominated the NBA, he dominated the NCAA Tournament for North Carolina. This Final Four, players will attempt to be like Mike and fly… or fall in style thanks to Jordan brand’s March Madness promotion.
Not only is it important to play one’s best during the NCAA Tournament, it also helps to look one’s best. This March Madness is no different thanks to Air Jordan, a brand of basketball shoes produced by Nike. This year, six teams will look better than the rest of the bracket because for the 2019 Final Four, Jordan Brand is unveiling the Air Jordan 4 and Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 in player-exclusive color-ways for Georgetown, Marquette, Oklahoma, Florida, North Carolina (of course!) and Michigan.
According to Victor Deng of “Footwear News,” the Air Jordan 4 will be decked out in the respective school’s colors on the premium suede uppers with contrasting details on the eye-stay and midsole. Details will include each school’s logo on the tongue with a blue translucent outsole underneath. The Why Not Zer0.2 will have a gray-based nylon mesh and knit upper with the team’s colors represented on the lining and outsole with the colleges’ logos on the shoe’s tongue.
There is a catch though. The kicks are exclusively for the Jordan Brand-sponsored colleges’ basketball teams and staff, so there will be no retail release. Still, it’ll be eye candy, so watch the NCAA Tournament! Some kid might ball Like Mike.
