Brand Redesign: The Evolution of YouTube
If you’ve spent any quality time with YouTube, you might have noticed a slight change in the way the brand is representing itself. YouTube recently updated the brand to be more flexible across the infinite number of devices people are using to access the service. The methodology is sound: simplify the brand so the experience is consistent everywhere.
Google made a similar shift with their branding in 2015. And since Google owns YouTube, it’s a safe bet that it also influences it. You can see a lot of the same brand strategy that Google implemented within the YouTube brand evolution.
In addition to the logo evolution, YouTube also implemented a considerable overhaul to their mobile app and added some useful new features to the desktop version of the site.
