AR Technology Gifts us with the Fur-tual Boutique

Many brands have begun implementing aspects of augmented reality into their ecommerce. Our favorite use of the technology has to be from Chewy, the online pet store. They knew what feature would provide the most value to their audience and created the Fur-tual Boutique.

 

The Fur-tual Boutique is a catalog of Halloween costumes for cats and dogs where you can use the AR feature to preview each outfit on your pet. Now there’s no question if the pumpkin costume you’ve been eyeing would be cute on your puppy, because you can virtually see it. Not only will this feature  drive sales through the site, it will also expand brand awareness since they offer people the opportunity to get cute pictures of their pets in silly outfits (that they sell)! I think it’s safe to say that we can all get behind a cat in a hot dog costume.
