DirectTV & MLB Star Build Shelters for Birds

For birds, flying over a baseball game is like accidentally finding yourself in the center of an active warzone. Every home run is a reverse meteorite just asking to catch an unlucky pigeon. This held true in decades past, when MLB legend Randy Johnson accidentally struck a bird with a ball to score a home run. The man seems to have become remorseful in the years since this fateful incident, and fortunately for him DirectTV has also had birds on the brain.

Bird Ballparks is a new TV spot from DirectTV’s “For The Birds” campaign, which highlights their new dishless capabilities. The ad features Mr. Johnson and his quest to both make up for his transgressions against our sky-bound friends as well as create a way for them to enjoy a ball game without fearing for their lives. He does this by creating Bird Ballparks out of his now defunct DirectTV satellite dishes. Packed with a miniature baseball field and birdseed, it is the go-to location for birds to enjoy America’s favorite pastime. Now that Randy has made up for his mistakes, it falls to us to keep an eye on the sky the next time we’re winding up for a home run swing.
