Networking with Social Media
The key to getting REAL results from marketing is – YOU GUESSED IT – getting your message in front of the right people, you know, the ones who want to buy from you (otherwise known as your customers).
It all starts with exposure!
Consider this the only time anyone will ever tell you that its okay to expose yourself in public. Now that you have a YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Linked In account, it’s time to use them to their potential. Get out there and hit your target with everything you’ve got. No mercy.
If you wrote a blog entry, tweet about it. Link your tweets to your Linked In account and your Facebook account. Move around and start writing entries that support your message. If you are trying to be more efficient (and who isn’t), use a software application like TweetDeck or its web equivalent HootSuite, both of which let you moderate all of your social media accounts from one place.
Here are some things to keep in mind while actively engaging your customers through social media…
- Remember that social media is a conversation – don’t sell – or at least don’t hard sell.
- Are you adding value? If you aren’t, think about your message and how to approach the subject better.
- Create some excitement! The web is filled with dull, dreary fluff. So don’t be a fluffy!
- Be a Leader. If you show your customers that you are a thought leader, they’ll be moved. And you’ll likely see an increase in loyal customers over time.
Don’t expect immediate gratification
The sales cycle is complicated and it doesn’t happen instantly. But with a regular and consistent marketing message across various media, it can amplify and enhance the impact of your marketing campaign efforts.
