This is the point raised in the Old Spice/Witcher collaboration called “Ode to Smell”. The ad features townsfolk from The Witcher series as they cheerfully sing about the variety of smells and stinks that plague their world. It is humorously grotesque as the filthy tavern-dwellers dance about with sweaty armpits and mud-caked faces.

The ad was released to accompany the airing of The Witcher season 2 and ride the wave of audience excitement. Using a song to convey the ad’s message was especially clever, as the music of The Witcher is one of its most beloved aspects.
