WEEKLY BUZZ FOR YOUR BRAIN

We Need More Carbs in Virtual Meetings

There has been an enormous uptick in virtual meetings as many people around the world are stuck at home, practicing social distancing. Whether you’re working from home or are engaging in virtual hangouts with friends, there’s no denying that finding a way to communicate through video is a primary concern.

While there are countless articles related to the topic, including which virtual meeting platforms are the best and how to keep people involved during your virtual meetings; the main idea is that people—even those who are less tech savvy—are being thrown into the world of virtual gatherings.

That leads us to our first (and probably won’t be the last) example of a virtual meeting with a viral ending. Recently, Lizet Ocampo, the political director at People for the American Way found herself on a weekly team meeting disguised as a potato. Confused, and unable to turn off the funny filter, she remained on the call as a potato. But the laughs didn’t stop there. Ocampo’s colleague tweeted a screenshot of the moment and it went viral, quickly becoming a meme later known as #PotatoBoss.

Now that most people have “stay at home” orders, challenging and entertaining issues like this are going to become more commonplace. Let’s certainly hope so… we definitely need the laughs.
