The McDonald’s Anime Series: WcDonald’s

Fans of fast food and anime, rejoice! The cornerstone fast food chain has recognized the fact that for decades its brand has been featured in anime and manga with an upside-down M, being called “WcDonald’s”. They have decided to reach out a loving hand to the anime community by creating special WcDonald’s packaging, a new sauce, and even a four episode WcDonald’s anime created by Studio Perriot, a storied animation house in Japan.

Anime has been a significant part of modern pop culture, with a massive and ever-growing fanbase, making it impossible for the fast food juggernaut to ignore. A campaign like this not only acknowledges the community, but also wraps them in a great big bear hug. New WcDonald’s episodes will drop each week for a month. Fans have the opportunity to try the new sauce at their local participating McDonald’s and scan the code on the packaging to get a glimpse of the franchise’s anime collection.
