The Ringer: A Feast of Podcasts
Move over ESPN, there is a new sports network to be thankful for and it’s The Ringer! Founded by ESPN cast off Bill Simmons in 2016, the Emmy-Winning site is full of well written, insightful sports and pop culture articles and a plethora of podcasts, such as The Rewatchables or The Bill Simmons’ Podcast (seriously, take a gander). The pods are delivered enthusiastically with engaging, invested hosts who provide perceptive commentary mixed with gut-busting laughs. Not only is the site popular, it is also profitable: 2018 podcast ad sales topped $15 million from 35 million downloads across its 28 shows. So, turn off the TV sports pundits and flip on a podcast from The Ringer – you’ll be thankful you did.
